On January 11th, the first Principal Salon of 2021 with the theme "Technology Connects the World, Achievements Create the Future" and the "Cloud Awarding" ceremony for the 2019-2020 International Student Scholarships were successfully held at the Study Support Center on the third floor of the library. President Li Bin invited representatives from the school's international projects and students, foreign teachers, and all international students to gather together virtually. Cui Shufang, the director of the Department of Vocational Education and Adult Education of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, was a special guest at the Principal Salon. Vice President Wang Qingguo presided over the salon, and Yang Shuai, the Deputy Dean of School of International Education, attended the event.
Yue Shaorong, a representative of the Sino-German Elderly Care Project, and Li Fang, a representative of the Sino-Malaysia Cooperative Education Project, delivered speeches in fluent German and English, respectively, sharing their learning achievements and future plans in the international education program, and aspiring to master international language skills and professional knowledge to connect with the world. Professional teachers from the Sino-German and Sino-Malaysia program, Zhou Jun and Zhou Yan, introduced the impact of overseas training and the implementation of international education programs on the construction of professional content, talent cultivation, and teacher growth. Li Xiaofang, a counselor from the Sino-Malaysia Cooperative Education Project, shared her study experience and career development in the UK's University of Liverpool as an example and gave suggestions and requirements for the professional and language learning, study abroad life, and career development of students in international cooperative education projects. Li Shengnan, a student who was admitted to three world-renowned universities in Korea through the "International Students Going Abroad" project, shared how the project has transformed and grown her, empowering her to pursue her study abroad dream.
As a representative of the "Chinese Language + Skills" teaching achievements, Pan Weilun and Pan Sangda shared their gains in participating in the Ministry of Education's "Reading China" Classic Reading Competition and amazed everyone with their work that won the second prize in the National Study Abroad Student Group. Xiao Zhifa, an international graduate who is about to graduate from the college, expressed his gratitude for the school's efforts and guidance in providing internships and "bottom-up" projects for international students and aspires to return to Laos after graduation to contribute to the economic development and promote friendship between China and Laos. Luo Jingteng, a student teacher from the Study Support Center, shared his growth insights at the school and how to promote English learning methods among his classmates. Ishikawa Meiji, a representative of foreign teachers at our university, expressed that the school's management and services are excellent and provide a high-quality and harmonious living and working environment, giving a strong sense of belonging and human care.
