On January 15, 2022, our school's first "On-Campus Base for International Students to Experience and Practice Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture" was officially established in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Education and Inheritance Demonstration Base.
In order to provide overseas students with a better understanding of the charm of Chinese language and excellent traditional culture, to bring them closer to the emotions of the school and its teachers and students, and to spend a fulfilling and happy winter vacation, the School of International Education organized the "ReadingChina · Cultural Journey" online winter camp for international students in China. The "Enter Campus Intangible Cultural Heritage Base" cultural experience and practice activities are divided into two parts: online appreciation and on-site experience. Laosstudent PanSangda, as a live tour guide and base intern, led the online audience to experience the journey of intangible cultural heritage, and appreciate the exquisite Hunan Liling underglaze colored porcelain in the exhibition hall. Four teachers from the School of Arts explained, demonstrated, and made intangible cultural heritage skills such as wax dyeing, tie-dyeing, and porcelain on site, showing the craftsmanship and extraordinary handicraft skills of Chinese craftsmen. Nearly 60 international students, foreign cooperative school principals, and high school graduates from our school participated in the live broadcast.
The online winter camp this time combines live streaming, recording, lectures, and communication, and arranges exciting courses such as intangible cultural heritage experience, Spring Festival customs, Crosstalk club, Changsha street photography, cultural exchange, language classroom, etc. The goal is to create a "Chinese language + culture" learning platform, expand learning horizons, and create a strong atmosphere of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries.
